What is a tandem dolly trailer?

A tandem dolly trailer is an unpowered vehicle attached to a truck. It’s mainly used to transport vehicles, but also has the capacity to carry goods. Its versatility and large towing capacity make it ideal for mine site operations. Compared to a flatbed trailer, tandem dollies are smaller and require less grips and hooks to attach vehicles. 

Tandem dolly trailers work by evenly distributing weight between the trailer and cargo. Drawbars at each end of the dolly connect with chains to give tow cars better traction while pulling dollies. This system allows dolly trailers to carry around two tonnes in some cases. However, because it’s so compact, it thrives best with smaller loads.
