It also comes with all standard mine fitments like a first aid kit, reversing beeper, and safety triangles. What is a prime mover?

A prime mover is a large motor vehicle with a robust engine designed to tow a semi-trailer. They are also referred to as puller vehicles or heavy-duty trucks. Prime movers are used to transport large cargo loads to different locations. Their tough towing power makes them ideal for moving livestock, vehicles, and over-height loads. Different kinds of prime movers are classified based on size, power, and configuration. Northfleet’s prime movers boast a tandem axle drive group with up to 47 tonnes of capacity. This auto-transmission vehicle seats two people, including the driver, and comes equipped with EBS disc brakes.
Can I drive a prime mover on a HR licence?

With a heavy rigid (HR) licence, you can drive a variety of vehicles, including prime movers. When you hire one of Northfleet’s vehicles, all you need is a valid driver’s licence for yourself and any additional drivers. Vehicle licences vary depending on the size of the vehicle and load weight, so check with the Department of Transport to find the correct licensing procedure. Alternatively, you can skip the paperwork and opt for Northfleet’s wet hire services. Choosing wet hire means you get the vehicle and a qualified driver. Our drivers are road rule experts and make customer safety a top priority. 
What are the features of a mine spec prime mover?

Our mine spec prime mover comes with all the standard features necessary for safe operation on mine sites. Northfleet has worked with most large mining companies, so we’ve streamlined our services to suit rugged conditions. Mine spec vehicles have extra safety features like flashing beacons, fire extinguishers, and reflective tape. These fitments protect workers from accidents and injury, as well as ensure maximum efficiency onsite. All of Northfleet’s vehicles are fully mine spec. How much does it cost to hire a prime mover?

The cost of hiring a prime mover varies depending on the services offered. There is no maximum hire period; however, depending on demand, there may be a minimum period. If you need more time on your rental, contact us at sales@northfleet.com.au to arrange an extension. Pricing also takes into account cancellations, fuel consumption, damages, and interstate travel. We also offer mobilisation and demobilisation of our fleet to most locations.
