Northfleet Bus Contractors Emergency Protocol
while on Charter.
On all long distance charters, Northfleet drivers carry –
- Mobile and Satellite Phone.
- 3 First Aid Kits
- Small Breakdown Kit- including Emergency Triangles, wheel chocks, jack and wheel brace.
- Spare Water, Oil and Coolant
- Spare Belts
- Maps of all areas they are travelling, including local directories
The moment an incident occurs whether it is an accident or medical emergency they are to notify their Supervisor at Northfleet who is on call 24 hours, 7 Days a week. The supervisor would then contact the School, Sporting group or Organisation to keep them well informed of the situation. They will then take the appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well being of our passengers. All drivers of Northfleet Bus Contractors have current First Aid Certificates.
When on Charter the driver always calls in to inform the supervisor the time of arrival. They will also inform their supervisor if running behind schedule as to not send alarm bells ringing if they do not arrive by the designated time.
We have performed many charters in the past with no incidents, but this does mean that Northfleet has a relaxed attitude towards safety. Northfleet approaches safety with the utmost respect and encourage drivers to take breaks as often as required if they are feeling tired. There will be an itinerary written up prior to each trip, but this is to be used as a guide only. The driver at their own discretion stops when they feel it is necessary.
The Driver has complete control of the bus at all times, and will seek the help of teachers or a designated person to control the
behaviour of passengers in the bus. The driver has the right to remove any person from the bus at any time that they see fit, with all cost to be
passed onto the customer.
